Durango is alive again on four independent fan servers — all free, all running reimplemented or off-server versions of the original game. This page tracks what's live and where to find it; setup details move fast, so follow each server's own site or Discord for current download steps.
Each server is a separate community with its own account system — they are not one network (a common annoyance on the subreddit). None of them charge money; if anyone asks for payment “for Durango”, it's a scam. Only download clients from each server's own site or Discord, and check any published hashes — re-shared builds may carry malware. Some are mid-wipe while development continues.

Official but alive: Durango: The Lost Island
An official spin-off experience inside MapleStory Worlds (announced Dec 2024, released 2025-02-05). Free; playable on PC/mobile: play it here.
- Recreates Durango's story, music and early-game feel: explore, gather, hunt, research, build, craft.
- Community verdict: polished crafting, nostalgic music/story; criticized controls (Sep 2026 reviews still ask for a dedicated app).
- It is not the full MMO and not the canceled Project DX.
How the fan servers work
- All 2026 servers are independent rewrites/reimplementations, not leaked original binaries running in public: e.g. Primoria rebuilt the server layer from scratch in C# (“no original source used”); Reborn ships a modified legacy client + custom launcher connecting to their own server (“off-server” = off the original official servers, not offline play).
- Practical consequences: each has its own account system; features vary (Primoria replaced Personal Islands with shared Village Islands to save server space; XD Lands adds a market city hub at Kota Raya); some are mid-wipe.
- Takedown/disclaimer posture: fan projects publicly acknowledge the rights holder's IP and promise to comply with takedown requests (Reborn even publishes a contact email).
